Wood Engraving workshop with Ben Goodman
There will be a maximum of 6 people on this course
ABOUT THE COURSE:
A two day weekend workshop for anyone interested in learning a contemporary approach to a traditional process.
On the first day you will learn various ways to transfer your image onto a piece of boxwood and then how to use a range of engraving tools. During the second part of the day you will start to engrave your image into the block while Ben is at hand to guide you through the process.
The second day will allow you to finish your engraving and print it onto a range of papers with a press and by hand. Ben will show you simple registration techniques and also explain the finer details regarding ink and paper.
By the end of the weekend you will have learnt about the various tools, materials, papers and processes in a manner that will allow you to carry on at home or in a print studio.
This course is suitable for all levels.
