Screen Monoprinting on Paper & Fabric with Jeanette Newell
Weekend Workshop Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th August 2019 10 – 4pm
There will be a maximum of 6 people on this course.
ABOUT THE COURSE:
This course will introduce a range of monoprinting techniques. Original, textural painterly prints will be created using a transparency, gelliplates and a silkscreen. You can choose to print on paper or fabric or a mix of both using different media.
Silkscreen monoprinting is an experimental, painterly approach to screen printing with often unexpected results. You will create prints with a variety of mixed media and dyes using an open silk-screen. You will also experience layering prints and using paper stencils.
Gelliplate monoprinting is a fun and intriguing way to create unique, textural and colourful patterns and art.
The course will be experimental and fun, with help and advice given to enable you to get the most out of the weekend.
Paper prints can be used for art and creative projects. Fabrics can be fixed and are then ready for your own sewing, art or embroidery projects.
This course is suitable for all levels. Please wear old clothes or bring an apron.
ABOUT THE TUTOR:

Jeanette’s work explores patterns and textures using mark making techniques. Her designs use deteriorative marks created by breakdown screen-printing, dyeing and mark making techniques.
