Scrum Down Print Forward
To celebrate the 2015 Rugby World Cup, Northern Print (gallery & printmaking studio) initiated a project to create a world record-breaking 33 metre long rugby themed linocut. Within the 33 metres (split into 11x 3 metre sections), 20 rugby ball-shaped linocuts were designed by artists from countries participating in the World Cup. GPC members designed & cut one of the 3 metre sections, and a proof of this linocut, along with prints of the 20 rugby ball prints, and short films documenting the GPC’s contribution to the project – from initial cutting to the final printing (by scrum machine) in Newcastle in October, will all be on show at the GPC Gallery.
Exhibition runs January 8th-29th, 2016. Gallery open Saturdays 11-4pm.
You are warmly invited to come to the private view for this show on Friday January 15th 6.30-8.30pm.
