I am a printmaker working with collagraph, drypoint and etching. Although my most recent work is based around rural Wiltshire, I have found the urban landscape of Bath and Bristol inspiring too. All prints start with drawings that capture something of the atmosphere of the place. Then I translate these ideas into print, exploring texture, form and light.
I joined GPC because I want to explore Letterpress printing. I am particularly interested in the role of text can play within an image, whether it’s the addition of text to make a print more like a journal, or work the explores the qualities of the text itself.
My prints are regularly on show at 44AD in Bath and at Gallery 56 in Corsham, Wiltshire, but I have exhibited widely in the South-West and beyond. My artist books have been exhibited in America since 2020.
